Watermark Technique For You Card

I have been busy stamping as I need to plan for my upcoming club this weekend.  We will be doing the "Watermark" Technique.  This is a really easy technique with not a lot of fuss.  The kind of technique that I like!  I could see myself using this technique whenever I am stumped on what to put on the card.  A simple faded pattern with vibarant color....WOWSA! I hope my club ladies like it.  I also like this card layout too.  It is clean, simple and doesn't use alot of supplies.  Give it a try!

Whoo Whoo For You Card

This card is made up from new products that are in the Holiday Mini catalogue.  The Early Espresso card stock is really neat as it has two tones to it.  It is called Core'dinations Card Stock (found on page 6 in the Holiday Mini Catalogue).  To get the lighter color first I embossed the card stock by embossing it with the Big Shot Die Cut Machine and the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Then I took a sanding block and sanded it until it was the result that I wanted.  Too cute!  For more information on this Core'dinations card stock please look at page 6 in the Holiday Mini Catalogue.  There are even other colors too!  The leaves at the top of the tree were made by using the new Autumn Accents Bigz Die (found on page 33 in the Holiday Mini Catalogue).  Fall is probably my most fav time of the year and I can't wait to make some projects featuring the new fall products in the Holiday Mini.  The owl is so easy to make with Stampin' Up!'s Owl Builder punch, everything that you need is all right there on this amazing punch.

In-Colors Betsy's Blossoms Card

The new 2012-2014 In-Colors are quickly becoming my favs.  The Gumball Green color is very similar to Wild Wasabi it is just a couple of shades lighter and the Summer Starfruit is a bit darker than Daffodil Delight.  I also like the deep color of Raspberry Ripple and the bright rich color of Primrose Petals.  If you don't have these new in-colors already you should definetly add them to your wishlist.    You will see the words on both cards have little frames around them and were cut out into a banner type shape.  The stamp set for the words is called Itty Bitty Banners and it has a matching Big Shot product...........Bitty Banners Framelits.  I have never used Framelits before and can also tell you that these products (stamp set and framelits) will soon be a fav of mine.  With all of these new catalogue products I think I may just have to have a STAMP CAMP.  Check back soon for details......

For You Days of Gratitude card

Here is a card that I made for one of my friends at work.  It was her last day today and to celebrate her new venture I made her a "for you" (instead of good-bye) card.  All of us at work signed the inside of it.  I hope she liked it.

This card was made using the Days of Gratitude stamp set and a bunch of Stampin' Write Markers.  First I colored the whole image with a Peach Parfait Stampin' Write Marker, I then went some of the stamp with an Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker and then finally colored the edge with a Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker.  It turned out to be a fall colored card which I think suits the big stamp perfectly.

Nature Clearly For You card

I have seen many cards with the the different images in the "Clearly For You" stamp set so I thought I would try that idea.  Here is my version.  Here is a card made by Mary Fish that I saw and was inspired by.  Mary used alot of the different images in the Clearly For You card on her card.  Isn't her card gorgeous!?! Mary is such a talented stamper.  I visit her blog often to get inspiraion.  Thanks Mary! 

My card size is 4"-1/2" x 4"-1/2".  Just perfect to add a little note to someone.

In-Colors Button card

I have noticed that I am late at sending out some "welcome" RAK cards for the newbies that are joining that group on SCS so I needed to make some cards for that.  Here is one that I made using some in-colors and the Buttons, Buttons stamp set.  This stamp set rarely gets used and I am not too sure why.  I made a couple of cards with it and am happy with the results.  The words "for you" are taken from the "Clearly for you" stamp set.  Whoever I send this to I hope it makes their day!

A little house card

I saw a card in a stamping magazine and thought it was all too cute.  Here is my version.  To make the roof I crimped 5 pieces of Early Espresso Textured card stock.  I then made a scallop border using the Scallop Edge Border Punch.  I put some SNAIL Adhesive on the scallop borders and lined them up the way I wanted them.  When my roof was all lined up the way I wanted it I then cut both sides at an angle with my paper cutter making a tip at the top.  Once I was happy with it I glued it down to the House part.  For the chimeny I cut a piece of Early Espresso smooth card stock into a rectangle and positioned it where I wanted it.  For the windows I cut 4 1" x 1" squares out of Baja Breeze card stock.  The door is an oval shape with part of the end tucked into the grass.
To make the green grass I just did random cuts along a piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock using my scissors.

I am going to use this card as one of the sample real estate cards that I sell to real estate agents.  It will be upoloaded to my INKspired Greetings & Baby Things! blog.  If you want to check that out the address is http://www.inkspiredgreetings.blogspot.com/.  I also noticed that we have a new neighbour just down the street from us.  This card might make her feel welcome.  Hehehe I love surprising people with handmade cards.

Poppy Parade Button Buddies card

This time instead of placing Pearls in the inside of each flower I used VersaMark, Heat & Stick powder and then Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  I liked the way this turned out.  You might have to click on the image to make it bigger so that you can see the sparkly centres of the flowers.  This stamp set makes for some quick and easy cards.  This card layout isn't hard to re-create either.  Now I just need to find someone to send this to.

Another card made with the Button Buddies and Perfect Words stamp set.  Isn't the pink pig cute with a button nose?  The Pretty in Pink card stock is paper crimped.  I need to use that tool more often.

An Apple For You card

Aren't Stampin' Up! punches great!  You can make so many different things with them.  Whatever the occasion using Stampin' Up! punches have a wide range of possiblities.  I needed to make a card for my daughter's kindergarten teacher and this is the card I made for you.  I got the inspiration for this card from Andrea Walford's apple card.  You can see it here. 

For my card - I used my Big Shot Die-Cut Machine along with the Circles #2 Bigz Die to make 2 Real Red circles (one for the back of the apple and another one to cut in half for the front of the apple).   Then cut out a smaller circle in Very Vanilla card stock and cut it in half.  I adhered it down first over top of my full Real Red circle then I adhered the half Real Red circle beside the Very Vanilla half circle.  To make the stem and leaves of the apple I used my XL Two-Step Bird Punch.  I love this punch...you came make so many different things with it.  I punched a piece of Early Espresso Textured card stock using the long stem of the punch and I cut out Wild Wasabi and Pear Pizzazz card stock for the 2 toned apple leaf.  For the indent in the top of the apple I used my 1-1/4" Circle Punch.  Just place it a bit into the top of the apple and punch.  For the bottom of the apple I used the same circle punch, I just punched less off of the bottom.  Now for the apple seeds....I puched out Basic Black card stock with the 4 point flower from the itty bitty punches and then cut it in half and the half again.  Adhere them on the Very Vanilla card stock where you want your seeds to be.  At the top and bottom of the card I used the alphabet stamp and numbers stamp from the First Day stamp set.  This stamp set was in last year's summer mini catalogue.  I knew when I saw that stamp set that it would come in handy for my children's school occasions.

Just for You 3 x 3 Autum cards

Masking Monsters

Hello Stamping Friends!  It is nice to finally be able to post some of the projects I have been working on.  It has been a busy last couple of days.  My son turned 2 last week and I have been working lots.  I have a part-time job and work some evenings and weekends.....this weekend was my weekend to work.  Ahhhhhhh...........Here is a card that I made the other night using the masking technique.  My Club has asked that I demonstrate this technique again as we have some new stampers in our club.  I thought this stamp set would be GREAT for that technique.  You will have to excuse my watercoloring technique as I am not the greatest at that.  I used a blender pen along with Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait Classic Stampin' Pads.  All you do is squeeze the ink pad before you open it, this will put a spot of ink on the top of the ink pad, then you use your blender pen or aqua painter to take a bit of the ink on the tip and apply it to the stamped image.  As you will see in the picture the Peach Parfait Monster is behind the Pear Pizzazz monster.....that is the masking technique.  I also did it with the Concord Crush Monster (who reminds me of Grimise from McDonald's) but I didn't position it enough over top of the Pear Pizzazz Monster.  I have been reading past issues of the Stampin' Success magazine for ideas, inspirations and techniques and have found that there are 3 different ways to do the masking technique.  This is the first way.....

Masking Technique
1) Stamp your image on card stock,
2) then stamp it again on a piece of copy paper.
3) cut the image out of copy paper
4) position it over top of first stamped image on card stock
5) grab a different stamp (in my case Peach Parfait Monster) and stamp just off of the first stamped image.
Voila! the masking technique.

Oh I also used a put Peach Parfait Classic Ink on my brayer and brayed over top of my Background Textured Plates to get the 2 different Peach Parfait tones on the bottom of the card.

Ruby Olive Smooched Elements of Style - June 27 Summer Mini Stamp Camp Card

After playing around with the previous 2 Elements of Style cards I made I came up with this one card.  It kind of combines both of the ideas of Andrea (En Francais and Elements of Style stamped in Close to Cocoa) and Petal Pusher (cut her design) in one.  This is the Elements of Style card that will be featured at my June 27 Summer Mini stamp camp.  I hope the ladies like it.  It was a lot of fun to make.  It may take a few more minutes to make but I think it is worth it.  See when I stamped the big Elements of Style stamp I didn't grab my colors to color the details in....perhaps I should try it colored too.

White Bordering Ruby Elements of Style

Here is another take with the Bordering Blue and Ruby Red colors reversed.  I liked cutting the Ruby Red into thirds and trying to line them up so they were even....let me tell you it wasn't easy.  Again thanks Mary Fish for your inspiration.

Bordering Ruby Elements of Style

I was able to play again this afternoon....it was kind of cute my daughter colored beside me as we watched Barbie's Thumbelina.  I just love those kids shows.  I think we own just about every Disney movie and I could watch them over and over again.  :)  On today's stamping agenda I played with the Elements of Style stamp set.  There are some amazing cards made with this stamp set.  I did CASE a few and while I was playing a way I came up with my 3rd design for my June 27 Summer Mini stamp camp.  This card was inspired by a very talented lady named Mary Fish.  You can view her card here.  Isn't that a great card.  I love the white stamped on the blue and the red layer makes her card really pop.  Wow!  I did make some changes by adding a Real Red 5/8" Satin Ribbon instead of the hummingbird and the words that I used on the card are different.

Vintage Vogue Tailored Bow

Here is another card using a different bow - this time I did what is called a "tailored" bow.  Too cute and so easy to do.  

The technique on this card is a little different.  Instead of using some scribbles from a Stampin' Write Marker I used a drop of Rich Razzleberry re-inker.  You do exactly the same procedure.....put a drop of Frost Shimmer Paint in an old empty button or eyelet container and then add a drop of re-inker, mix and voila a pretty shimmery flower.  I received this technique on that same weCANstamp DVD demonstration done by Winona.  She also had a card on there similar to this one with the Vintage Vogue flowers.  When I saw that card I knew I had to do something like that for my May Club.  Here is card #2 for my Stampin' Technique & Scrapbook Page.  I hope they have as much fun as I do making this card.

I think I may do a similar card but make all of the using the Frost Shimmer Paint and a drop of re-inker.  The results are more bold than the shimmer paint and marker mixture.

Life's Elements of Style Classic Bow

Yeah I have some new cards with new techniques to show you!  These cards were so much fun to make.  I made 3 different cards using different kinds of bows along with a technique using Shimmer Paint.  Shimmer Paint gives amazing results.  I love it.  The above card is 1 of the 3 cards that I will be demonstrating at my May Club.  The bow on this card is called a "classic" bow.  I usually tie knots on my cards when using ribbon but that just may change.  The classic bow is really easy to do.  I will put a Stampin' Up! video tutorial on my blog when I have a chance so that you can see just how easy it is to make.

Group that I below to and Winona who is part of this group did a demonstration on shimmer paint and Stampin' Write Markers.  This technique is so easy to do and you can get amazing results using it.  If you look really closely at my card you will see the flowers have a pink shimmer effect to them.  How I got this was I scribbled a couple of lines of Pretty In Pink Stampin' Write Marker in an empty button container then added a drop of Frost Shimmer Paint.  I mixed them both together grabbed my sponge dauber and dabbed the shimmer paint marker mixture on the flower part of the stamp.  I then went over the other part of the stamp with my Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker and voila the above result.  So easy to do and soo pretty.  Thanks Winona for showing me that awesome technique.  Apparently Winona received that technique from Shannon West at one of the recent Stampin' Up! Regionals.

For You Happy Moments Card

Now this card was fun to make........I knew which card layout I wanted as I saw it in Stampin' Up!'s Occasion Mini catalogue.  The hard part was what to put on it.  This is the card that my Stampin' Technique and Scrapbooking Club members will be making for this month's club meeting.  We meet on Saturday - yeah!  For this month's technique the hostess wanted to use her sewing machine.  Sewing on cards is fun.  Keep an eye out for March's Scrapbook page - I will upload it to my blog sometime next week.  :)

For You Two-Step Bird Punch Card

This is the card that I made for my club members as a little "enjoy your new product" for their February club orders.  I like making them little 3 x 3 cards.  I was inspired to make this card when I came across the most beautiful butterfly card on Kimberly Van Diepen's blog (http://www.stampingbythesea.com/).  I had my Beautiful Butterlies die out all ready to go and then I remembered.......I had just received some new products from Stampin' Up! one product in particular that I was dying to try so I used that instead...my new XL Two-Step Bird Punch.  hehehehe  I changed a couple more things up to make the card my own but my inspiration did come from Kimberly's card.  You will have to go and check it out.

For You Blooms Card

Here is another take on the Happy Birthday Blooms card I made.  One of my club members requested I demonstrate sewing at her club month which is in March.  I added the sewing border around this card to show my club members what it looks like.  I showed them the Happy Birthday Blooms card without the sewing first and then this one.
