Tiger Ice Cream anyone?!?!

Here is another card I made using my new Sweet Scoops stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s Summer Mini Catalogue.  This card uses the "kissing technique" that I talked about in my last ice cream card description.  Do you see how the black swirls over top of the Pumpkin Pie ice cream?  To get this effect you need a base image and a textured image.  This stamp set has both of those.  Ohhh the number of cards you can make with those two stamp sets are endless.  I couldn't resist making a Tiger Ice Cream card......it is one of my fav flavours of ice cream.  I may just have to have this or a card similar doing the "kissing technique" at my Summer Mini Stamp Camp coming up in May.  Oh yes and I also used a jumbo brad which I don't usually use.  Need to start using the stock that I have and start leaving my comfort zone a little bit.  Kind of funny how the light is shining on it - it almost makes the Jumbo Brad look orange. hehehe  And one more thing about this card is I used the Photo Corner Punch to make the word banner.  I saw that on someone's blog recently.  Great trick!  I must find out whose blog I saw it on so that I can give them the proper credit for it.

Just a Few of My Fav Things Scrapbook Page

While I was creating a scrapbook page of my son to demonstrate at my April Stampin' Technique and Scrapbook Club I had to make a second one (different colors of course) for my daughter.  Here is what I came up with.  I love scrapbooking.  The memories that came flooding back when I made this were unreal.  I think I was beaming the whole time I made it.  She looks so happy in just about every pictures.  My son's version is the same layout and theme but different colors.  His scrapbook page will be is the one I am demonstrating at my April Club.  Just think for every scrapbook page I make if I made another one slightly different for my other child I could really get a handle on all of the pictures I need to scrapbook.  Yeah!  This scrapbook layout is taken from the Scrapbook Lounge's Scrapbook Page Planners.  Isn't it great!  In their scrap map they use 12  2-1/2" x 2-1/2" squares instead of 9 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" like I did.  If I find pictures that I can cut that small I just make try out their picture sizes.

Sweet Triple Scoop Card

I received the Sweet Scoops stamp set that is featured in Stampin' Up!'s Summer Mini Catalogue the other day. I am not sure whether you can tell from the picture but I scored the So Saffron card stock in diagonals.   You may have to click on the picture to make it bigger so that you can see the scored lines.  That is a fun technique to do too.  It just adds that little extra on a card.  I know I am going to love making cards and scrapbook pages with this stamp set.  It is very versatile and has a stamp it that does the "kissing" technique so nice and easy.  Yeah!  I will be sure to point out the "kissing" technique on a card when I upload one.  I can't wait for my other Summer Mini pre-order products to come.

Black Horses are Wanted Card

Here is the last card I made using the Ink, Spray & Smash Technique.  I was trying to make it look like the horses were running at sunset or sun rise but it didn't work out how I had hoped.  I tried to make a moon or sun but the sticky note paper was too thin.  I guess I could make a new one using Whisper White or Barely Banana card stock.  I am excited to see which card favourite my club members pick.

Black Daisies Card

Here is the second card that I have made using the Ink, Spray & Smash technique.  You can find this technique on SCS under resources.  It is so much fun to do.  I need to start making more cards using this technique.  You get such a pretty background with the Ink, Spray and Smash Technique.  I was thinking about a Christmas card that I want to make using this technique but I won't be making that card for a while.  Perhaps I could have that card featured at my September Christmas card stamp camp.  Ohhh there is an idea!  And another idea I had was doing this technique and then using the XL Two-Step Bird Punch to make a flower or a very colorful bird.  I better go and put my ideas down on paper.  hehehe

Black Bird Nature card

I was playing around with the Ink, Spray and Smash technique as that is the technique that the April Club hostess wants.  That technique is so much fun.  I remember doing it last year.  We decided to do it again as we have a couple of new ladies this year who haven't done this technique before.  Here is one of the three cards that I made.  I have decided to make this fun for my Club Members...being I have created 3 cards they get to pick their fav and wait until Club to see which one we will be doing.

Introducing......the Color Renovation

Stampin' Up! is making some very exciting changes......Experience a new world of color with Stampin' Up!'s Color Renovation.  Stampin' Up! is re-vamping their color families....Instead of 4 colors families and a neutral family there will be 5 color families...These 5 new color families will consist of some new colors, some returning in-colors and some colors that will be carried over.  This also  means that some colors will be retiring.  I am so excited to have new colors to play with!!!

Michelle's March Scrapbook Layout of the Month

Here is my scrapbook layout for the month of March. We had fun making this scrapbook page.  I love the monkey stamp from the Fox and Friends stamp set.  He is too darn cute.  I think I may change the pictures on this page when the weather is nicer and I can get some playground photos.  My little guy does love sitting in a sink full of water and having fun.  He is too cute - kind of like the monkey stamp.  hehehe  I gave the ladies a choice to do the monkey page or to substitute the monkey for a bird.  A couple of them did a bird page using the Two-Step XL Bird Punch.  Their pages looked amazing.  You can't really see on the image but we did the sewing technique for this scrapbook page.  We sewed a zig-zag stitch along the Very Vanilla edges.  The hostess of the month wanted the sewing technique to be demonstrated.  It was fun.  I like adding sewing to my card and scrapbook pages.

My Stampin' Up! Story

Stampin' Up! is doing a stamping recruit promotion and one of the challenges I need to complete is to share my Stampin' Up! Story.  So I thought my blog would be the best place to share my Stampin' Up! Story.

I want to make Christmas cards.......... is how my Stampin' Up! Story happened. That is the exact line I told my Husband after being at a Stampin' Up! get together in December 2005. I was so amazed by the cards and projects there that I was all pumped to make our own Christmas cards that Christmas. I went through the Stampin' Up! Catalogue to see which stamp set I was going to use....Frosty was my choice. Now to pick a color of card stock...hmmm. So many choices. One of the huge craft store chains was having a card stock sale so I purchased all of my card stock from there and boy was that a wrong choice to make. Believe it or not when I went to emboss the "snowflakes" stamp on the blue card stock the card stock changed colors from the heat of the heat gun. To make this long story short - I quickly figured out Stampin' Up! products have the best quality and you pay for what you get. This story has helped me a lot in the past....everyone either laughs or sighs in shock. I became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in February 2006. My maternity leave was ending and this was a great way to keep me home with our daughter and to do something that I loved. My journey for 4 years has been so much fun. I have met so many wonderful and creative friends. Everytime I am demonstrating a new product or even receive a shipment I am like a little kid in the candy store - my heart races and I squeak with excitement.  hehehe  Sharing the gift of creativity is one amazing thing.

One of my favourite memories as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator was when a lady came to one of my buffet style stamp camps and looked very overwhelmed at the 6 different card designs along with supplies on the table.  She looked at me and looked at the table and said where does one start.  I gave some direction before the stamp camp started and in the end this lady had the biggest smile on her face and said "I DID IT"!  Anyone is creative even when they think they are not.  With the right tools and instructions you can create anything!
