October Scrapbook Layout of the Month - Page 2

Here is the second page that I demonstrated at my Stampin' Technique & Scrapbook Club yesterday.  We always do 2 scrapbook page layouts.  As I was demonstrating this page I was telling the club ladies that I love Stampin' Up!'s Days of Gratitude stamp set as well as their Pear Pizzazz card stock & ink and Peach Parfait.  Fall is also my fav season so this page was easy to make.....it has my fav season and a bunch of my fav Stampin' Up! products on it.

If look at the right side of the stamped leaves square you will see a Pear Pizzazz button on it.  Stampin' Up! doesn't make that color in buttons so I found a tutorial on how to make them myself.  Easy Peasy.  All you need to do is punch out 6 3/4" circles, adhere each layer together with Crystal Effects stacking one on top of the other.  Once the Crystal Effects has dried punch 2 holes in the center using the small hole punch on your Crop-A-Dile and voila a "faux button".  You can either leave the holes bare or tie a ribbon in the middle.  A great way to make an accent for a page in any color you want.

October Scrapbook Layout of the Month - Page 1

Today is a day full of happy thoughts and sad thoughts...I am happy because I get to get together with my stamping club this afternoon.  I always look forward to those days.  I will be demonstrating this single page scrapbook layout (plus a similar one to make it 2 scrapbook pages) to them as well as the "color emerging" technique.  I am also sad as today is the last club meeting.  We are finished the Stampin' Technique & Scrapbook Club for the year.  We have meet each month for 10 months.  Wow that time has flown by.  I can't believe the last club meeting is here already.  We learnt lots of amazing stamping techniques and completed 10 double layout scrapbook pages.  I really enjoyed doing a scrapbook page every month.  There is some good news though, next year I will be hosting a mini stamping technique and scrapbook club too.  If you are interested please join me for 4 months of scrapbooking fun.  Registeration has already started.  You can find further details here.

Ghostie Card - October 24 Christmas Stamp Camp Halloween Card Design #2

This card was a lot of fun to make.  hahaha I think I start off just about every post saying that.  I love to create cards (and scrapbook pages).  The cute little ghost was made with Stampin' Up! Owl Punch.  hahaha I saw this idea either on SCS or Stampin' Connection (an exclusive website for Stampin' Up! Demos) and just loved the idea.  This is Halloween card design #2 that will be featured at my Christmas card stamp camp in October.  I hope you can join me for an afternoon of stamping fun on October 24. To make this cute little ghost all you do is punch out the owl image on Whisper White card stock, punch out 3 Basic Black small circles (on the same punch) and 2 little Whisper White circles (on the same punch).  Then you will need to cut the owl's feet off, flip the image around and adhere 2 of the Basic Black small circles for eyes, one for the mouth and the 2 little white circles for inside the black eyes and voila a Ghost made from the Owl Punch.  Easy peasy!

Spider Spooky Halloween Card - October 24 Christmas Stamp Camp Halloween Card Design #1

Because one of my Christmas card stamp camps is in the month of October I thought why not have some Halloween cards for my stamping friends to make.  Here is Halloween card design #1 that will be featured at my October 24 Christmas/Halloween card stamp camp.  This card is really easy to make.  The Spider web was embossed on a piece of Basic Black card stock with the Big Shot and Stampin' Up!'s Spider Web Textured Impressions Folder (Holiday Mini).  After I ran it though my Big Shot (my fav stamping tool) I flipped it over, applied some Platinum Shimmer Paint to a sponge dauber and gently went over the spider web image - that is how I got the cool look background for this card.  In the bottom left hand corner of this card you will see Stampin' Up!'s new Glimmer Brads.  I think they add the perfect touch for this spooky Halloween card.  I hope you can join me for an afternoon of stamping fun on October 24.  The cost for the Halloween cards is $8.00 (2 card of 2 designs).  Please visit either the Classes link on the right hand sidebar of this blog or my Stampin' Up! Jolly Jingle Rainbow Embossing Card - October 24 Christmas Stamp Camp Card #2

This card was a lot of fun to make.  A lady by the name of Christy Harsch, who is top Stampin'Up! Demonstrator of the Stampin' Up! Group that I am in made a sample card for a workshop DVD that Stampin' Up! sells and she used the Rainbow Technique on her card.  This technique is amazing.  Super easy and the results are awesome.  When I saw her card I knew that I wanted to share this technique with you on a Christmas card.  The colors of embossing powder that I used on this card are Gold and Silver.  I also did a couple of other cards using Craft ink with Irridescent Ice & Silver embossing powder as well as Classic Ink using the same embossing powder.  Very cool.  I am very excited to demonstrate this technique and card at my October 24 Christmas card stamp camp.  It isn't too late to join, there are still some spots available.  I hope you can join me for an afternoon of stamping fun.  Please visit my events calendar either on the right side of my blog or on my demonstartor website.  You will find a link on the right side of my blog.

Glittery Snowflake Card - October 24 Christmas Stamp Camp Card #1

For some reason I wasn't able to send the card designs via email.  Boy am I glad that I can post them on here without any problems.  (knock on wood).  Ohh I like making Christmas cards and had fun making this one.  This card design came from an issue of Stampin' Success.  There was a very similar card in there that I saw a while ago.  I loved the simplicity of the card.  The card is still very festive even though thee isn't much stamping on it.  This is going to be one of the 2 Christmas card designs that will be featured at my Christmas Card Stamp Camp on October 24.  I hope everyone has as much fun as I did making it.  The red card base is Poppy Parade - isn't that a great Christmas color.  Please visit my events calendar either on the right hand side of my blog or on my Stampin' Up! Day of Gratitude Friend card

Here is a card that I will be demonstrating at my last Stampin' Technique & Scrapbook Club.  I can't believe it is almost the end.  I have had so much fun and am going to miss getting together every month - oh well I guess there is always next year.  The technique that I am demonstrating is called Color Emerging.  If you look close at the stamped image you will see some of the image stamped in Crumb Cake (top left) and some of the image stamped in Blushing Bride (bottom right).  How did I do that......well you take a piece of neutral card stock (here I used Very Vanilla) and stamp your image a couple of times in different colors of Classic Ink (I used Crumb Cake & Blushing Bride), then you stamp your image again using VersaMark.  Pour Clear Embossing Powder over top, shake excess off and heat set.  After you have heated the image take a brayer or sponge (I used a sponge) and cover with a darker color of Classic Ink (I used Early Espresso).  Once you have finished the sponging or brayer part then wipe embossed image off with a tissue and voila you have a card with the Color Emerging Technique on it.  I can't take all of the credit for this technique.  I came across it on Kimberly Van Diepen's blog.  I was blown away with the card she had made.  Here it is here.  You will have to scroll down a bit - I think it is the second card on her "a few techniques" page. This card amazed me so I thought why not try it with the big stamp in the Days of Gratitude stamp set.  I hope my club members like their last technique that I will be demonstrating to them for the year.

Just for You 3 x 3 Autum cards

Here are a couple of 3" x 3" cards I made with the Days of Gratitude stamp set. I made 6 different 3" x 3" cards the other evening as I wanted to give some of my co-workers some Happy Thanksgiving cards. Autum Birthday Card

I received some new Stampin' Up! products last week and found some time to play with them today.  I have a couple of new fav products that I want to share with you.......my new fav stamp set is Days of Gratitude (page 7 Holiday Mini), a new fav color is Pear Pizzazz and a new fav product is Basic Pearl Jewels.  When you are looking for a finishing touch add one on and see just how perfect they are to finish a project.  The Days of Gratitude stamp set is great for making standard sized cards like the one above and 3" x 3" as you will see in a later post.  I can't wait to try the Days of Gratitude stamp set on a scrapbook page.  This stamp set will be featured on my October's Stamping Technique & Scrapbook Club projects.  I needed a birthday card to take with me to work tonight and this is the card I am giving the recepient.  When I went to work on Tuesday evening I heard it was one of the real estate agent's birthdays.  I hope she likes it.  I had fun making it.  When I was browsing in Mary Fish's blog the other day I came across a card she had made.  I loved the way she stamped 4 leaves and positioned a circle over top of the stems.  The idea for my card came from her and her cool card, you can view her card here.  I left my stems a bit longer than hers.  I like both of the effects of either having long or short stems give the cards.

On the Green Birthday Card

When I saw the On the Green stamp set on page 19 in Stampin' Up!'s 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue I knew that I had to have that stamp.  My Husband loves golfing so I knew that stamp set would come in handy making his birthday card.  Here it is.  We celebrated his birthday the other day and he loved his card.  I came across a very stunning masculine card made by Mary Fish..you can see her card if you click here - isn't that a great masculine card.  I love it.  Mary is such a talented stamper.  I frequent her blog often for ideas.  My card isn't a direct case of hers but I did follow some of her ideas...Very Vanilla card stock on a Very Vanilla layer...Basic Gray textured card stock layer on the left side of the card and silver brads.  Thanks Mary for your wonderful ideas and providing inspiration to me.  :)
