Quick & Easy Christmas Gift.........

Here is a quick and easy Christmas gift that I made for my sister-in-law.....a glass jar sporting Stampin' Up!'s Candy Cane Decor Elements filled with handmade Nuts & Bolts.  A Christmas gift can not be quicker or easier than that.  Here is how I made it......I purchased the glass jar from one of the Dollar Stores in the city that I live in.  I then applied the 3 red candy canes on 3 of the jar's sides, I then adhered some Candy Cane Designer Series paper with sticky strip to the top of the jar lid and then filled the jar with my homemade recipe for nuts & bolts.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Accessories: Real Red Candy Cane Decor Elements, Sticky Strips, Candy Cane Designer Series Paper

Non Stampin' Up! supplies used:
Glass Jar

Northern Hearts Winter Wonderland

Another card I made using the Northern Hearts (Hostess Level 1) stamp set.  The snowflake image on this card is a bit shimmery.  I used a combonation of Champagne Shimmer Paint and Marina Mist Classic Re-Inker.  If you want to try this fabulous wow factor all you need to do is add a couple of drops of each in a container, mix, then apply the mixture onto your stamp surface with a sponge or sponge dauber and then stamp it on a piece of card stock.  I wish you could see the shimmerness of the image.  Oh my is shimmerness a word.  Well if not I guess I just made one....hahahaha because it suits this card.  The Bright Christmas stamp set found in the Holiday Mini is a new fav stamp set.  I love the curves of the "Winter Wonderland" image.  Too cute.  I also just love making a square piece of card stock using the Top Note.  I think it adds a great layer for a focal point.  Give it a try.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Sets: Northern Hearts (Level 1), Bright Christmas
Paper: Marina Mist card stock, Night of Navy card stock, Whisper White card stock, Brushed Silver card stock
Ink: Marina Mist Classic Re-Inker, Platinum Shimmer Paint, Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Bigz Die, Scallop Border Punch, Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals, Lattice Textured Impressions Folder

Holly Jolly Christmas

Ohhh it is begining to look a lot like Christmas - yeah!  Christmas is not that far away my friends.  Are you ready?  I am not at all.  I feel like I have so much to do still.  One of those many things to do is my Christmas cards.  I am not even going to count them this year I am just going to do them.  hahaha perhaps that will releave some of the stress not knowing exactly how many I need to make and send out.  Here is a card I made today featuring the Northern Hearts stamp set.  You will find this stamp set in the Holiday Mini catalogue as a hostess level 1 stamp set.  Isn't it cute!  I am not sure if you can pick it out from the picture but the wreath has a little shimmer to it.  I put a couple of drops of Certainly Celery classic re-inker in the top of a brad container and add some drops of Champagne Shimmer Paint on top.  I mixed it around with the end of a paint brush and then took a sponge dauber to apply the shimmer paint re-inker mixture to the stamp set and then stamped the wreath image on Whisper White card stock.  Voila a shimmery Christmas wreath.  I added the red berries with a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker after the wreath had dried.  One thing I love about Christmas cards is adding sparkles to the cards.  I usually always have some sort of sparkle on them.  The cards are almost always embossed too.  hehehe  It is funny how I associate different things for different occasions.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Sets: Northern Hearts (Hostess Level 1), Bright Christmas
Paper: Poppy Parade card stock, Old Olive card stock, Whisper White card stock
Ink: VersaMark, Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker, Certainly Celery Classic Re-Inker, Real Red Stampin' Write Marker, Platinum Shimmer Paint
Accessories: Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions Folder, Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Scallop Border Punch, Sticky Strip, Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Gun

Stampin' Up! Designer Fabric is......AWESOME

Hello Stamping Friends,
I bring you this post with great excitement.......I had to try out Stampin' Up!'s Designer Fabric and well........I LOVE IT.  I was getting some inspiration from a upline DVD the other day and a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator showed a Designer Fabric creation she had made....a designer fabric scallop square coaster.  Thanks for the inspiration Winona!  OMG!  I loved it so of course I had to get the products to re-create this too cute project.  Below are a couple of pictures that I took while making these cute Christmas gifts.

Here is an opended package of the Candy Cane Designer Fabric.  I love the color and fabric combo you receive.  Wow!  Look at all that fabric.  Isn't it great.

The Scallop Square Bigz Die is a perfect die to make these cute Scallop Squares.  If you have the Big Shot die-cut machine this die is a must.  Even if you don't own the Big Shot die-cut machine I would suggest getting one.  You can do so much with it.

Here is a picture of the supplies I used to make the Candy Cane Designer Fabric Coasters.

Here are the Candy Cane Designer Fabric trio I made.  Too cute!  These are so easy to make.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Accessories: Candy Cane Designer Fabric, Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Scallop Square Bigz Die, SNAIL adhesive, Linen Thread, Button from Candy Cane Designer Bigs Buttons

Here are the step by step instructions
Step 1 - Cut a piece of 5" x 5" Candy Cane Designer Fabric or fabric of your choice and place over top of the Scallop Square Bigz Die.  Remember when using a Stampin' Up! Bigz Die if there are no scoring lines which the Scallop Square Bigz Die does not have, you can cut more than at a time.  I think I was able to cut 4 squares at a time.  Yahoo!
Step 2 - Run Scallop Square Bigz Die and Candy Cane Designer Fabric through Big Shot Die-Cut Machine
Step 3 - Flip Candy Cane Designer Fabric Scallop Squares over so that they are facing down on your stamping surface.  Then place adhesive either on each scallop around the edges of just inside of them.  I used Stampin' Up! SNAIL adhesive.  You want to do this on bot insides of each Candy Cane Designer Fabric Scallop Square.
Step 4 - Take a little bit of batting or poly-fiber fill and place on the inside of one Candy Cane Designer Fabric Scallop Square just inside the adhesive line.  You do not need to use a lot of batting or poly-fiber fill as we don't want these coasters to be too thick.
Step 5 - Take the Candy Cane Designer Fabric Scallop Square that doesn't have the battie or poly-fiber fill and place on top of the other one.  It is easy as all you have to do is match up the scallop edges of each square and it should be adhered together straight.
Step 6 - Take a needle and Linen Thread and sew an 'x' in each corner.  A Linen Thread tip - you can separate the linen thread so that is it not so thick.
Step 7 - Take a button from the Candy Cane Big Designer Button collection and sew it in the bottom right corner using a needle and linen thread.
Voila you have completed a Candy Cane Designer Fabric Scallop Square Coaster.  Please visit my website often to see what I am pairing up with this cute little Christmas project.

These Candy Cane Designer Fabric Scallop Square Coasters are very inexpensive to make and make for a great Christmas gift.

Season's Greetings Tags Till Christmas card - December 19 Christmas card stamp camp

I can't believe Christmas is only 22 days away.  YIKES! Are you ready?  In between now and then I still need to have my December Christmas card stamp camp.  Here is one of the 2 designs that we will be creating.  I was kind of unsure about this layout as it is a bit fussy but I am confident that my stamping friends can handle it.  This card is actually CASED (which means copied exactly) from Stampin' Up!'s Stampin' Success magazine.  When I saw it on the front cover I thought that would be a great card to have at my last Christmas card stamp camp.  I did make some changes to it though - the top scallop border Pear Pizzazz card stock piece and the Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon were my personal touches.

I hope you will join me at my last December 19 Christmas card stamp camp.  At this stamp camp there will be a couple of draws, one for free Stampin' Up! product and another one for a FREE stamp set for those of you that have attended all 4 Christmas card stamps camps. The stamp set will be given out on the stamp camp day. Also this stamp camp will feature a "stamping extra".
