Wild Wasabi Butterfly Trio - June 12 Class Project

Here is another project that will be featured at my June 12 "I am a Big Shot" Class.  These cute little butterflies aren't just normal butterflie........they are butterfly magnets.  Yup made with card stock, the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and magentic sheets.  Aren't they neat.  Again I am so impressed with all that the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine can do.  On June 12, 2011 from 3:00 to 5:30 come join me for a Big Shot class.  We will be making 6 different projects all using the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine.  Cost is FREE if you have purchased a Big Shot Die-Cut Machine from me or FREE if you purchase one at the time of the class or $5.00 if you do not own one.  Click here to register.

Another neat feature on these butterflies is if you look really close to the Wild Wasabit colored ones you will see that the Baroque Motifs stamp design is the same color as the card stock.....I used Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder.  Yes Stampin' Up! now had a couple of colored embossing powders the same as their card stock colors.  Yahoo!  Embossing is one of my fav techniques.  You will find these in the Summer Mini Catalogue.

Here is a card I made using Stampin' Up!'s Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric and the Heart of Hearts Embosslits Die.  Did you know that you could cut out fabric using the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine and an emblosslits die?  I didn't until I saw a card on Stampin' Connection the other day so I just had to try it.  This is so cool.  I love my Big Shot Die-Cut Machine.  It can do so much.  That is why I wanted to have a "I am a Big Shot" class so that I can teach different ways to use the Big Shot to you.  This is project #3 that will be featured at my "I am a Big Shot" class on Sunday, June 12, 2011.  Registeration closes on Monday, June 6 for this class so make sure you register soon.  You can click here to register.

I am a Big Shot Class Projects - "I am a Big Shot" Class June 12, 2011

                      Embedded Embossing Technique

I must admit I am a bit behind in getting these Big Shot projects uploaded.  Here are 2 of the 6 projects that will be featured at my "I am a Big Shot" Class Part 1.  On Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. come and join me for a couple of hours of Big Shot fun.  In this class we will learn all about the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, its accessories and the materials you can use with it.  Did you know that you use a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on 2 pieces of card stock together? I didn't until I saw a card on Stampin' Connection.  I just had to try that as I thought that "Embedded Embossing Technique" would be great for masculine cards.  I love my Big Shot Die-Cut Machine. It can do so much. That is why I wanted to have a "I am a Big Shot" class so that I can teach different ways to use the Big Shot to you.  Here are the following Big Shot Accessories that we will use in this class; Beautiful Butterflies and Flower, Daisies #2 Bigz Dies, Scallop Square Bigz Clear Dies, Matchbox Bigz xl Dies, Scallop Rectangle Clearlits Die, Circles #2 Originals Die, Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits Die.                                                              Gerber Daisies

Wedding Note cards

There are always plenty of weddings with the spring and summer months.  Here are a couple of quick and easy wedding note cards I have made recently.  I am not sure whether you can tell in the picture or not but the "Cherish" wedding note card has the Rainbow Embossed Technique on it.  I love this technique.  The Rainbow Embossed Technique is when you stamp your image in Craft Ink or VersaMark and then sprinkle part of the image with one color of embossing powder (Irredescent Ice embossing powder) and then the rest of the image with another color of embossing powder (gold embossing powder).  Please remember to tap the excess embossing powder of the first color you used off before you adding another color of embossing powder.  hehehe if you don't you may have a really big mess.

Stampin' Up! products used:
Stamp sets: Baroque Motifs, Word Play, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Very Vanilla card stock, Chocolate Chip card stock, Whisper White card stock, Brushed Silver card stock
Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft Ink, Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad
Accessories: Heat Gun, Irredescent Ice Embossing Powder, Gold Embossing Powder, Scallop Edge Punch, Gold Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Scallop Circle Punch, Modern Lable Punch, Shiny Ribbon I found in my non-Stampin' Up! ribbon drawer

Helping out.....

I think it has been a week since my last post....things have been kind of busy around here.  A community north of us has been affected by a fire.  They have been evacuated and lots of them have lost everything.  Over the last couple of days the kids and I have been shopping to help them out.  We went to a store and the kids picked out a bunch of toothbrushes for adults and kids, toothpaste as well as soap and some combs.  We then headed over to another store and bought some diapers.  Then the next day after my daughter's kindergarten class we headed down to a radio station (CISN Country head quarters) to give the donations we had collected.  It was a lot of fun and pretty amazing to see everyone come together to help out the people of Slave Lake and surrounding areas.  There was a charitable BBQ and $28,000.00 was raised to help these people out.  They also filled 3 semi trailer trucks full of donations.  Wow!  I am very proud to belong to a community where giving come naturally and no one second guesses it.

Here are some pictures that I took of our amazing experience.

I will post some creations for you over the next couple of days.

Happy Stamping!

Here is the scarpbook page that will be featured at my Strength & Hope card and scarpbook stamp camp.  This stamp set is quickly becoming one of my favs.  As you can see I have made 5 very different projects using this stamp set.  It is a very versatile stamp set as it can be used for cards, 3-D projects (wrap around for a flower vase) as well as a scrapbook page.

For my scrapbook page I used a different word set as I didn't think the word set from the Strength & Hope stamp set quite suited my pictures.  The pictures are 5" x 7" and 3-3/4" x 3-3/4".  I had a lot of fun making this scarpbook page and can't wait to show it to my kids tomorrow.  They were already in bed when I made this page.

A Wedding Invitation

This is a sample wedding invitation that I made for my brother's wife's sister.  It needed a couple of revisions like the word "Amour" we changed to "Amor" (which is the word love in Spanish).  It was a bit challenging as I had to stamp the first part of the word first "amo" and then stamp the "r" after.  In between eyeballing the words and the stamp-a-majig I was able to do it.  Another change was the way the card opened, it was changed from horizontal to vertical.  I am very happy with the way they turned out.  Julieta is too!  I really like the color scheme she picked.  To help her decide on the wedding invitations she looked through Stampin' Up!'s Idea Book & Catalogue and picked which card she liked best.  Then she told me which colors and presto her wedding invitation.  We got together with some of her friends to make them as she needed 70.  It was fun.  For the RSVPs and favor boxes I ended up cutting the supplies out for her to assemble at home.  I will upload a picture of the party favor boxes as they are really cute.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Set: Clearly You
Paper: Early Espresso card stock, Very Vanilla card stock, Daffodil Delight card stock, Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper, Sahara Sand card stock, Always Artichoke card stock
Ink: Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker
Accessories: Antique Brads, Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Island Bigz Die
