Travel Scrapbook Page - Project #1 - May Scrap & Card Camp

At last my wait is OVER!  I received some new stamping products today.  yeah!  Now I can finally finish the projects for my May 16 Scrap & Card Camp.  Here is Project #1 - the 8.5 x 11 scrapbook page that we will be doing.  This is a picture of my family eating at Jackson's Hole & Grill in Nelson, B.C. while on our family summer vacation last year.  The projects being offered at my May Scrap & Card Camp were inspired by a scrapbooking video I saw done by a Stampin' Up! office team member.

I was just thinking as I was uploading this scrapbook page that perhaps some of you are like me and you don't have a 8.5" x 11" scrapbook.  My scrapbooks are usually 12" x 12".  The fun thing about scrapbooking is you can easily convert a scrapbook page to whatever size you want.  All you need to do is grab a piece of card stock that is 12" x 12" and voila your 8.5" x 11" scrapbook page is now a 12" x 12" scrapbook page.   I have a 12" x 12" scrapbook page version of this scrapbook page and will upload it in the next couple of days so that you can see the difference and how easy it is.  The cost for this scrapbook page project is $10.00.   Remember if you are unable to attend you can always get the projects to go!

Stampin' Up! supplies used:
Stamp Sets: Sentimental Journey (Summer Mini Catalogue)
Paper: Kraft card stock, Old Olive card stock, Rich Razzleberry card stock, Very Vanilla card stock, Soft Suede card stock
Ink: Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker, Old Olive Classic Stampin' Spot, Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad, VersaMark
Accessories: Spiral Punch, Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Circle Designer Brad, Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Billboard Sizzlits Decorative Strip

Wanted Teal Cocoa Sun Card

Here is another similar Stampin' Up! creation with my own changes to it.  Isn't this a nice card.  I love how they used the horse and other Wanted stamps as a tag on the front of the card.  I added a different ribbon and some natural hemp twine as well as the Summer Sun Scallop Edge Border on the bottom of the tag.  Oh yes and I also did the background of the card with the Perfect Polka-Dots Textured Impressions Folder along with add some Chocolate Chip Classic Ink to make them "pop" out more.  This is another card that I added to some of my club members orders.  I hope they like the cards they get.  Again this card features some of Stampin' Up!'s retiring colors...Taken with Teal, Close to Cocoa and Summer Sun.  Again this card could easily be a "Retiring SU Colors" Stamp Camp card.

Stampin' Up! supplies used:
stamp sets: Wanted
paper: Close to Cocoa, Taken with Teal, Naturals White, Summer Sun
ink: Taken with Teal Classic Stampin' Spot, Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad, Summer Sun Classic Stampin' Pad, Close to Cocoa Classic Stampin' Spot
Accessories: Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Perfect Polka-Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Scallop Edge Punch, Crop-A-Dil, Tag Corner Punch, Chocolate Chip 1" Double-Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Natrual Hemp Twine, Stampin' Dimensionals

Baroque Motifs with Summer Daisy

This month I was quick at getting my "enjoy your new Stampin' Up! products" card finished for my club members.  Not sickness got in the way this time.  Last month I missed out giving them a "enjoy" your products card as the flu had gone through our house.  I was a little disappointed as I like making these cards and putting them in my stamping friends orders.  :)  This card inspiration came from Stampin' Up!'s May Stamping Success.  The card is very similar to their creation.  I did add my own details though - the Daisy and clear rhinestone brad are the changes that I had made to the card.  This card features Stampin' Up!'s retiring colors......Close to Cocoa, Taken with Teal and Summer Sun.  I don't think I would have come up with this color combo on my own but I do like them together.  This card just may be at a "retiring color" stamp camp in the near future - if I decide to host one.

Stampin' Up! supplies used:
stamp sets: Baroque Motifs
paper: Close to Cocoa, Taken with Teal, Summer Sun, Naturals White
ink: Taken with Teal
Accessories: Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Daisy #2 Bigz Die, Clear Rhinestone Brad, Paper Piercer
Technique: Tearing Paper

"Mini" Birthday Album - Second Birthday

Here are the pictures of my daughters 2nd birthday that I put inside the "mini" birthday album I made.  Each page will have a picture of her on her birthday and a picture of the cake that her Daddy made for her on that special day.  He is an amazing cake decorator.  This "mini" birthday album just may end up being a Father's Day present for him.  I hope you join me for an afternoon of stamping and scrappin' fun!

"Mini" Birthday Album

I was watching a Stampin' Up! video on amazing scrapbooking projects to do for May.  Did you know that May is National Scrapbooking month?  I came up with this "mini" birthday album as a choice for project #2 at my May Scrap Camp.  Isn't it cute.  In this "mini" birthday album I will be putting pictures of my daughter's birthdays and the cake that her Daddy made for her on each of her birthdays.  At my May Scrap Camp we will be using products featured in Stampin' Up!'s Summer Mini Catalogue.  There will be 3 "scrapbooking" projects and 6 cards (2 of each 3 different designs) for my stamping friends to make.  Project #1 is a 8.5 x 11 "Travel" scrapbook page using the Sentimental Journey stamp, Project #2 is either this "mini" birthday album  using the Sweet Scoops stamp set or a "mini" school album using the First Day stamp set.  Project #3 is to decorate the front of a Stampin' Up! 5" x 5" Art Journal using the Element of Style stamp set.  The 3 different designs of cards will look similar to the scrapbooking projects.  I wanted to do this to show how easy it is to re-create a scrapbook project into a card.  Click here to see the Happy Birthday card.  This Scrap Stamp Camp will be held on May 16.  There are still spots available.  More of my Scrap Camp projects will be uploaded closer to the scrap camp date.  Please visit my events calendar on my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator website for furter details about my May Scrap Camp.

Gotta Love Soft Serve!

I was a busy girl this afternoon while watching a video with my daughter.  Here is another card using the Sweet Scoops stamp set.  I am really enjoying this stamp set.  I can't wait to take some pictures of us eating ice cream so that I can make a "Sweet Scoops" Scrapbook Page.  heheheh the brain is always going.  This card just might make the cut for my Summer Mini Stamp Camp.  I love the Rich Razzleberry and Certainly Celery colors together.  Another out of my comfort zone thing is the Jumbo Gromet.  I bought these all excited to use them and they just sit there.  I really like the look of a ribbon tied in the center.  Must start using those more too.  I am not sure whether you can tell from the picture or not but the Sahara Sand "bowl" that the soft serve ice cream is sitting in has the Perfect Polka-Dots on it.  Too cute!  I also did the direct-to-paper technique with the Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad along the edges of the Whisper White card stock.  I have a couple of birthday cards that I need to send out so this card just may be for my friend who lives a couple of houses down from me.  I hope she likes it.

Tiger Ice Cream anyone?!?!

Here is another card I made using my new Sweet Scoops stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s Summer Mini Catalogue.  This card uses the "kissing technique" that I talked about in my last ice cream card description.  Do you see how the black swirls over top of the Pumpkin Pie ice cream?  To get this effect you need a base image and a textured image.  This stamp set has both of those.  Ohhh the number of cards you can make with those two stamp sets are endless.  I couldn't resist making a Tiger Ice Cream card......it is one of my fav flavours of ice cream.  I may just have to have this or a card similar doing the "kissing technique" at my Summer Mini Stamp Camp coming up in May.  Oh yes and I also used a jumbo brad which I don't usually use.  Need to start using the stock that I have and start leaving my comfort zone a little bit.  Kind of funny how the light is shining on it - it almost makes the Jumbo Brad look orange. hehehe  And one more thing about this card is I used the Photo Corner Punch to make the word banner.  I saw that on someone's blog recently.  Great trick!  I must find out whose blog I saw it on so that I can give them the proper credit for it.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Sets: Sweet Scoops (Summer Mini Catalogue)
Paper: Kraft card stock, Pumpkin Pie card stock, Basic Black card stock, Whisper White card stock
Ink: Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad, Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin' Spot, Creamy Caramel Classic Stampin' Spot
Accessories: Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Perfect Polka-Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Silver Jumbo Brad, Photo Corner Punch

Just a Few of My Fav Things Scrapbook Page

While I was creating a scrapbook page of my son to demonstrate at my April Stampin' Technique and Scrapbook Club I had to make a second one (different colors of course) for my daughter.  Here is what I came up with.  I love scrapbooking.  The memories that came flooding back when I made this were unreal.  I think I was beaming the whole time I made it.  She looks so happy in just about every pictures.  My son's version is the same layout and theme but different colors.  His scrapbook page will be is the one I am demonstrating at my April Club.  Just think for every scrapbook page I make if I made another one slightly different for my other child I could really get a handle on all of the pictures I need to scrapbook.  Yeah!  This scrapbook layout is taken from the Scrapbook Lounge's Scrapbook Page Planners.  Isn't it great!  In their scrap map they use 12  2-1/2" x 2-1/2" squares instead of 9 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" like I did.  If I find pictures that I can cut that small I just make try out their picture sizes.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Sets: Favourite Things
Paper: Dusty Durango 12" x 12" Textured card stock, So Saffron card stock, Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper, Chocolate Chip card stock, Whisper White card stock
Ink: Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad, Dusty Durango Stampin' Write Marker
Accessories: Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Naturally Serif Alphabet Sizzlits Decorative Strip Dies, Scallop Circle Punch, Tag Corner Punch, Choclate Chip 5/8" Satin Ribbon

Sweet Triple Scoop Card

I received the Sweet Scoops stamp set that is featured in Stampin' Up!'s Summer Mini Catalogue the other day. I am not sure whether you can tell from the picture but I scored the So Saffron card stock in diagonals.   You may have to click on the picture to make it bigger so that you can see the scored lines.  That is a fun technique to do too.  It just adds that little extra on a card.  I know I am going to love making cards and scrapbook pages with this stamp set.  It is very versatile and has a stamp it that does the "kissing" technique so nice and easy.  Yeah!  I will be sure to point out the "kissing" technique on a card when I upload one.  I can't wait for my other Summer Mini pre-order products to come.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Sets: Sweet Scoops (Summer Mini Catalogue)
Paper: Certainly Celery card stock, So Saffron card stock, Melon Mambo Textured card stock, Whisper White card stock
Ink: Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad, So Saffron Classic Ink Spot, Melon Mambo Classic Stampin' Pad, Certainly Celery Classic Stampin' Spot

Black Horses are Wanted Card

Here is the last card I made using the Ink, Spray & Smash Technique.  I was trying to make it look like the horses were running at sunset or sun rise but it didn't work out how I had hoped.  I tried to make a moon or sun but the sticky note paper was too thin.  I guess I could make a new one using Whisper White or Barely Banana card stock.  I am excited to see which card favourite my club members pick.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Set: Wanted
Card stock: Dusty Durango Textured card stock, Basic Black card stock, Whipser White card stock, Crushed Curry card stock
Ink: Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad, Real Red Classic Re-Inker, Summer Sun Classic Re-Inker, Pumpkin Pie Classic Re-Inker, VersaMark
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Scallop Edge Punch, Gold Brad, Star Punch

Black Daisies Card

Here is the second card that I have made using the Ink, Spray & Smash technique.  You can find this technique on SCS under resources.  It is so much fun to do.  I need to start making more cards using this technique.  You get such a pretty background with the Ink, Spray and Smash Technique.  I was thinking about a Christmas card that I want to make using this technique but I won't be making that card for a while.  Perhaps I could have that card featured at my September Christmas card stamp camp.  Ohhh there is an idea!  And another idea I had was doing this technique and then using the XL Two-Step Bird Punch to make a flower or a very colorful bird.  I better go and put my ideas down on paper.  hehehe

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Sets: Upsy Daisy
Card Stock: Whisper White card stock, Basic Black card stock, Real Red card stock, Glossy White card stock
Ink: Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad, Real Red Classic Re-Inker, Summer Sun Classic Re-Inker, Pumpkin Pie Classic Re-Inker, VersaMark

Black Bird Nature card

I was playing around with the Ink, Spray and Smash technique as that is the technique that the April Club hostess wants.  That technique is so much fun.  I remember doing it last year.  We decided to do it again as we have a couple of new ladies this year who haven't done this technique before.  Here is one of the three cards that I made.  I have decided to make this fun for my Club Members...being I have created 3 cards they get to pick their fav and wait until Club to see which one we will be doing.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card stock: Crushed Curry Textured card stock, Tangerine Tango card stock, Basic Black card stock, Whisper White card stock, Glossy White card stock

Michelle's March Scrapbook Layout of the Month

Here is my scrapbook layout for the month of March. We had fun making this scrapbook page.  I love the monkey stamp from the Fox and Friends stamp set.  He is too darn cute.  I think I may change the pictures on this page when the weather is nicer and I can get some playground photos.  My little guy does love sitting in a sink full of water and having fun.  He is too cute - kind of like the monkey stamp.  hehehe  I gave the ladies a choice to do the monkey page or to substitute the monkey for a bird.  A couple of them did a bird page using the Two-Step XL Bird Punch.  Their pages looked amazing.  You can't really see on the image but we did the sewing technique for this scrapbook page.  We sewed a zig-zag stitch along the Very Vanilla edges.  The hostess of the month wanted the sewing technique to be demonstrated.  It was fun.  I like adding sewing to my card and scrapbook pages.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Set: Fox & Friends
Paper: Bermuda Bay Textured card stock, Soft Suede card stock, Very Vanilla card stock, Old Olive card stock, Sahara Sand card stock
Ink; Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad
Accessories: Two-Step XL Bird Punch, Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Billboard Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die

My Stampin' Up! Story

Stampin' Up! is doing a stamping recruit promotion and one of the challenges I need to complete is to share my Stampin' Up! Story.  So I thought my blog would be the best place to share my Stampin' Up! Story.

I want to make Christmas cards.......... is how my Stampin' Up! Story happened. That is the exact line I told my Husband after being at a Stampin' Up! get together in December 2005. I was so amazed by the cards and projects there that I was all pumped to make our own Christmas cards that Christmas. I went through the Stampin' Up! Catalogue to see which stamp set I was going to use....Frosty was my choice. Now to pick a color of card stock...hmmm. So many choices. One of the huge craft store chains was having a card stock sale so I purchased all of my card stock from there and boy was that a wrong choice to make. Believe it or not when I went to emboss the "snowflakes" stamp on the blue card stock the card stock changed colors from the heat of the heat gun. To make this long story short - I quickly figured out Stampin' Up! products have the best quality and you pay for what you get. This story has helped me a lot in the past....everyone either laughs or sighs in shock. I became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in February 2006. My maternity leave was ending and this was a great way to keep me home with our daughter and to do something that I loved. My journey for 4 years has been so much fun. I have met so many wonderful and creative friends. Everytime I am demonstrating a new product or even receive a shipment I am like a little kid in the candy store - my heart races and I squeak with excitement.  hehehe  Sharing the gift of creativity is one amazing thing.

One of my favourite memories as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator was when a lady came to one of my buffet style stamp camps and looked very overwhelmed at the 6 different card designs along with supplies on the table.  She looked at me and looked at the table and said where does one start.  I gave some direction before the stamp camp started and in the end this lady had the biggest smile on her face and said "I DID IT"!  Anyone is creative even when they think they are not.  With the right tools and instructions you can create anything!

Friends - Fun - Freebies - Share what you love! Join Stampin' Up! between April 1 and May 31, 2010 (or while supplies last) and receive TWO FREE technique DVDs (2007-2008 and 2008-2009 Workshop Wow DVDs). The Starter Kit Flyer is also attached. You can sign up online at www.michelleblackburn.stampinup.net. Click on start your own business, then join now, the password is inkyfingers09. All new Stampin' Up! Demonstrator who join my team will receive a new stamp set value up to $40.00. That is my thanks to you.
