Espresso Kind Friend....Revamp
The previous card I uploaded called Espresso Kind Friend was missing something. At first I thought it was a cute card, very simple and easy to make but after looking at it for the last couple of days I decided to give it a new look. This is the card I came up with. All I did was color the flower image from Stampin' Up!'s new Friends Never Fade stamp set with some Stampin' Write Markers, added a Bashful Blue layer behind the stamped flower and spritzed the front with some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz. I think it is neat how you could demonstrate the previous card I did and then show how you can jazz a simple plain card up by just adding a couple of things.
Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp sets: Thoughtful Friend builder wheel (118616), Friends Never Fade (118750 w, 120618 c)
Card stock: Early Espresso (119686), Whisper White (100730), Pink Pirouette Textured (119937), Melon Mambo Textured (119930), Bashful Blue (105120)
Ink: Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad (119670), Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Marker (121074), Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker (100071), Bashful Blue Stampin' Write Marker (105111)
Accessories: Stampin’ Around Jumbo Handle (103661), Builder Wheel Spindle & Spacers (119895), Crimper (101618), Playground Designer Buttons (retired), Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402), Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz (118772)

Sweet Friend Tango
Another card I made last night using Stampin' Up!'s Early Espress card stock and classic stampin' pad. The card base is Tangerine Tango which is a returning in-color. The card stock that has the "Sweet Friend. Kind Friend" words on it is Kraft card stock. I hadn't realized this but Stampin' Up! will no longer have Kraft card stock. I guess I should have paid closer attention to the Last Chance lists. hehehe I was a bit sad when I found this out but then I realized Stampin' Up!'s new core color CrumbCake will be a nice replacement.
Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
stamp sets: Thoughtful Friend builder wheel (118616)
paper: Tangerine Tango Textured card stock (119949), Whisper White card stock (100730), Kraft card stock (retired), Early Espresso card stock (119686)
ink: Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad (119670)
accessories: Stampin' Around Jumbo Handle (103661), Builder wheel Spindle & Spacers (119895), Crimper (101618), Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402), Playground Designer Buttons (retired)

Crumb Cake Friends are Flowers card
This card was made using all new Stampin' Up! products....the card stock, classic ink and stamp set are all new products you will find in Stampin' Up!'s 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue. If you are interested in a copy of Stampin' Up!'s new catalogue please let me know as I have some waiting to get new homes. The card base for this card is Crumb Cake card stock. It is a bit darker than Sahara Sand and lighter than Kraft card stock. The right hand corner flower is stamped with a Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad. The blue in this card is Stampin' Up!'s new core color Marina Mist. This color will quickly become a color favourite of mine, I can just feel it. The stamp set is not available yet but becasue I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I was able to pre-order it so that I can show it off. It is called Friends Never Fade. The stamps in this stamp set are bold and very versatile. This will be another card that will go in one of my club member's June club orders. I just love making cards and adding them to their orders. I always look forward to it and I hope they look forward to receiving them.

Espresso Kind Friend card
Last night (Thursday) I had a craving to create, it must have been from the hectic day that just ended. Little kids do keep one busy. hehehe We had a fun morning in the sunshine at a park and then went to the pet store to get some new fish for our fish tank and finished the day with a DQ ice cream. My creative craving was to stamp with Stampin' Up!'s new colors. This card sports Stampin' Up!'s new core color Early Espresso. I laid a piece of this card stock next to Stampin' Up!'s Chocolate Chip card stock and Early Espresso is almost black. Chocolate Chip has a more reddish tinge to it. This will be a card that I put in one of my club member's June's Club order. It is a very simple but nice card I think. The light pink color is Stampin' Up!'s Pink Pirouette. I am so glad they brought that color back it is such a nice soft pink. Pink Pirouette is now part of the Subtles color collection. It will take me some time to get used to which color belongs to which family. Melon Mambo is the dark pink color on this card and that color is now part of the Brights Color Collection. Both the Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo card stock I used are textured. Stampin' Up! is now offering all of their 12 x 12 card stock packages half smooth card stock and half textured card stock. I like using textured card stock so I am glad to see that change.
Another change you will notice to my blog is the item #s beside the Stampin' Up! products I have used. I thought this may be easier for you if you like a product to have that product's item # close by. I am also doing card recipes for each card I put into my club members orders so that they know which product is being used and its item number.
Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp sets: Thoughtful Friend builder wheel (118616)
Card stock: Early Espresso (119686), Whisper White (100730), Pink Pirouette Textured (119937), Melon Mambo Textured (119930)
Ink: Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad (119670)
Accessories: Stampin’ Around Jumbo Handle (103661), Builder Wheel Spindle & Spacers (119895), Crimper (101618), Playground Designer Buttons (retired), Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402)

June 27 Summer Mini Stamp Camp Card Designs
Here is a picture of all of the 5 card designs that I am offering at my June 27 Stamp At Home Summer Mini Stamp Camp. Being I didn't have each card posted one after the other I thought it might be easier to see which designs are being offered if I took a picture of all of them together. These card use stamp sets that are featured in Stampin' Up!'s Summer Mini Catalogue.....Candle Craze, Birthday and So Many Stars builder wheels found on page 9, Sweet Scoops found on page 10, Elements of Style found on page 12 and Sentimental Journey found on page 22. The Sweet Scoops stamp set is one of my favs so I had to make 2 cards using that stamp set. The details for this Stamp At Home stamp camp are with payment of either $25.00 (non-club members) or $22.00 (for club members) I will send you the supplies to make each card along with step by step instructions so that you can make these at home.

Detour Journey card - June 27 Summer Mini Stamp Camp
Here is the final card for my Summer Mini Stamp Camp - yeah! All 5 card designs are completed. I think this card would make a great masculine birthday card for a traveller in a family. One of my brothers just may receive this for their birthday. It has been a busy last couple of days.....outside doing family things enjoying the nice weather, trying to get all of the card designs made for my Summer Mini Stamp Camp...then I have been trying to get some baby quilts made and then I had a Stamping Technique and Scrapbook Club on the weekend. Whew! We had a great time at my Stamping Technique and Scrapbook club - I love getting together with them and always look forward to our club meetings.
I found the layout of this card in a Stampin' Success magazine. This card layout is great for stamp sets that have a number of different stamps that would look good together on a card. I will try and post another example over the next couple of days so you can see what I mean. The Stampin' Success magazine is a magazine that we demonstrators get once a month that has Stampin' Up! tid bits in it. I always look forward to getting it as it has so many great ideas for cards and ways to use products. I am always inspired by it. Instead of having my June Summer Mini Stamp Camp at my house I am going to offer it as a Stamp At Home class. You pay the $25.00 (non-club members) or $22.00 (club members) and I will send you the supplies along with step by step instructions on how to make each card.

Masculine Happy Birthday
Another attempt using Stampin' Up!'s Builder Wheels from the Summer Mini Catalogue. I think I have the hang of it now. After using the Candle Craze builder wheel as a background on the Old Olive card stock and then both the Birthday and Candle Craze builder wheels on the Whisper White card stock I think I finally know how to use these properly. My images are a little off balance but that too shall come with time. hehehehe You know what they say pratice makes perfect. There is another product that I definetly have to work on and that is the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz. This smooch spritz is way darker than the Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz. I positioned the Log Cabin Smooch Spritz bottle in the center of my card and pushed the top down and it ended up spraying the top left corner of my card. I did remove the layers first before I sprayed as I didn't really know what it was going to look like. As you can see the ribbon is a two toned and there is a big splotch in the top left corner. I made this masculine birthday card for Tom my sister-in-law's husband. I hope he likes it.
Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
stamp sets: Candle Craze (builder wheel), Birthday (builder wheel)
paper: Kraft card stock, Chocolate Chip card stock, Old Olive card stock, Whisper White card stock
ink: Chocolate Chip Classic ink re-fill & Certainly Celery Classic ink re-fill added to an un-inked cartridge
accessories: Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, Perfect Polka-Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads, Kraft Taffeta Ribbon, Crop-A-Dile, Log Cabin Smooch Spritz

Happy Birthday Builder Wheels card
Last night I was able to play around with Stampin' Up!'s new builder wheels. Let me tell you these take a little bit of getting used to...probably just like the first time you used a Stampin' Up! standard or jumbo wheel. Here is the card I came up with. Whenever I used Stampin' Up!'s standard wheel or jumbo wheels I would just use an ink pad to ink the wheels up...well I tried using Stampin' Write Markers for these builder wheels and it wasn't so easy.......I am glad that I bought an uninked triple cell ink cartridge. I put Certainly Celery Classic re-inker in one cell, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink in the middle cell and Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink in the third cell. My images weren't straight enough and the card front wasn't big enough to put all of the words from the Birthday wheel. I am off to play again to see if I can't master this product before my Summer Mini Stamp Camp on June 27.
Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
stamp sets: Happy Everything, Candle Crazy (builder wheel), Birthday (builder wheel), So Many Stars (builder wheel)
paper: Rich Razzleberry Textured card stock, Whisper White card stock, Chocolate Chip card stock, Certainly Celery card stock
ink: Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad, Rich Razzleberry Classic Re-Inker, Certainly Celery Classic Re-Inker, Chocolate Chip Classic Re-Inker, Certainly Celery Classic Stampin' Pad
accessories: Rich Razzleberry Polka-Dot Ribbon, Playground Designer Series Buttons, Scallop Edge Punch

Ruby Olive Smooched Elements of Style - June 27 Summer Mini Stamp Camp Card
After playing around with the previous 2 Elements of Style cards I made I came up with this one card. It kind of combines both of the ideas of Andrea (En Francais and Elements of Style stamped in Close to Cocoa) and Petal Pusher (cut her design) in one. This is the Elements of Style card that will be featured at my June 27 Summer Mini stamp camp. I hope the ladies like it. It was a lot of fun to make. It may take a few more minutes to make but I think it is worth it. See when I stamped the big Elements of Style stamp I didn't grab my colors to color the details in....perhaps I should try it colored too.
Stampin' Up! supplies used:
stamp sets: En Francais (background stamp), Elements of Style (Summer Mini)
paper: Ruby Red card stock, Chocolate Chip card stock, Very Vanilla card stock
ink: Close to Cocoa Classic Stampin' Spot, Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad, Ruby Red Classic Stampin' Spot

Dazzling Diamonds Elements of Style
Ohh this card was fun to make. I received the inspiration to make this card from Andrea's card. When I saw her card I said "oh my" out loud. Her card is very stunning. The Crystal Effect bottle beside her card had me very curious so I went to her blog to see the recipe for her card so I could try it. I haven't used Crystal Effect in a long, long time. Another product I haven't used in a long time is my blender pens and re-inkers to add color to a project. I am more of a base stamp girl than a detailed stamp girl. You can see Andrea's card here. Isn't her card amazing. Wow! I was thinking of featuring this card at my June 27 Summer Mini stamp camp but then I thought there may be too many little details in it so instead I will demonstrate the use of Re-Inkers, Blender Pens, Crystal Effect and Dazzling Diamonds at one of my upcoming Stampin' Technique & Scrapbook Clubs. That will be fun! Thanks Andrea for your inspiration. Wow your card is simply amazing!

Upside down Ice Cream - June 27 Summer Mini Stamp Camp Card
I have come across this card a couple of times and whenever I see it I just smile. When I saw Cathy's card I had to case it and make one of my own. Thanks Cathy for your inspiration. I love how she put faces on her cones and had squiggles coming out the cone tops. I just may have to add those squiggles. When I look at Cathy's card I remember as a child going to Swenson's, I think that is what it was called, and getting these humungous ice cream sundaes with gumball eyes and cones on top. Too bad they don't have those places anymore - my kids would have the biggest eyes ever seeing an ice cream like that. This will be one of the cards featured at my June 27 Summer Mini stamp camp...if you would rather put the faces on the ice creams than chocolate sprinkles you can. I am more of a chocolate sprinkle girl than gum in my ice cream. hehehe
Stampin' Up! Supplies used:

Gable Yoyo Pixie Ice Cream
Here is another card I did today using the Sweet Scoop stamp set. This one was a lot of fun....I was trying to incorporate retired colors into this card and I think I did a pretty good job....there are 3 retired colors in it...Gable Green, Yoyo Yellow & Pixie Pink. The inspiration for this card came from Kathleen.....a picture of her card is here. Thanks Kathleen for your inspiration. Great card...I love the way she tied all of the colors together as well as putting stampin' dimensionals on each scoop to give them a little lift. I didn't do that this time as I find it too time consuming especially for a stamp camp (your welcome Wendy)! hehehe

MichelleSweet Scoops cards coming your way..........
Ohh I have been a busy bee this afternoon........not only was I browsing various resource outlets I have looking for ideas and inspiration for my upcoming Summer Mini Stamp Camp (June 27 - check my calendar for further details) I was able to make some sample cards featuring the Sweet Scoops stamp set. Only 2 of the Sweet Scoops cards will be featured at my June 27 stamp camp but I am going to post all of the samples I made. This stamp set is truly an amazing stamp set....I say that because you can do anything with it....make backgrounds using the sprinkles and striped stamps, make single, double, triple cones, female and masculine cards depending on color choices, add glitter to make shimmery ice cream......the creativiness is endless with this stamp set. It is one of my favs and after browsing to get some inspiration I can see it is a lot of other people's favs too.
The above card was inspired by a lady named Nancy....in her gallery she has a card very similar to this one and when I saw her card I loved it. Click here to see Nancy's card. Isn't this card amazing. I love the tone on tone ice cream and then the colored one on top. So cute. I chose the Pixie Pink color for my card as this is a retiring color. Though I haven't used this color in a very long time I think it goes well with ice cream - don't you?

Tied up Dog card
This is the last card I created using the "faux wood" technique. This technique was so fun and had my creative juices flowing. A while back I had made a dog card using the punch art dog idea from Jackie Topa and when I saw a single piece of faux wood sitting on my stamping space this card idea popped into my head. It turned out just the way I had hoped it would. Don't you love it when that happens. :) I must thank Jackie again as her ideas are always so amazing. Finally I think all of the "faux wood" technique card ideas out of my head.....now I can move onto another technique...hehehe. Before that I need to make a couple of baby blankets - yup I sew too. I have for the past year or so made baby rag quilts for family and friends when a new addition to their family is born. After the rag quilts have been finished (hopefully by the end of this week) I can play some more - my order for new products should be in....yes I am receiving a shipment next week of Stampin' Up!'s new in-colors and core colors - ohhhh I am so excited...along with that shipment I will also receive 2 new stamp sets that will be featured in Stampin' Up! 2010 - 2011 Idea Book & Catalogue.......keep your eyes peeled for some new fresh projects. I love this time of the year. The excitement of a new catalogue never seems to end.

Life's Moments Flower card
The inspiration for this card came from two places.......my backyard vegetable garden boxes and Jackie Topa. There is an amazing card on Jackie's blog (her card) of a flower beside a glitter window and when I saw the flower I knew that would be the perfect flower to fit into my faux wood garden box. The flower petals are made with the XL Two-Step Bird Punch. I haven't used that punch in a while but it is never far from my reach. hehehe when I like something I tend to use it a lot. As you can see my new stamping product to use is the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine and the Perfect Polka-Dots Textures Impressions Folder.

Reflection Technique card
Hello! I have been busy stamping the last couple of days/evenings. Every time I think I am finished with a project another idea pops into my head and there I go stamping again. hehehehe Here is a card I did with the reflection technique. This technique is so easy. I used to think it was a pain to do but when I saw Jean demonstrate it on the weCANstamp DVD I recently got, she made it look so easy and you know what it is. I am sending this card to my aunt for her birthday........it is a bit late but it is the thought that counts right! :)
Reflection Technique:
1. Take a base stamp and ink with Basic Black or Staze-On Jet Black ink
stamp base image on neutral card stock (here I used Whisper White)
2. next take a piece of acetate, ink image again and stamp on a window sheet
3. turn the stamped image on the window sheet upside down, position it just under the previous base image you stamped on the Whisper White card stock and give the window sheet a rub. Lift and your image should be there.
4. now take a piece of scrap paper and lay it across your Whisper White card stock in between both stamped images
5. take a sponge and an ink pad and sponge some color at the top of your Whisper White card stock. I used a Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Spot
6. next take another sponge and add a lighter color of ink under the first color you did - I used a Brocade Blue Classic Stampin' Spot
7. I then added a third color (So Saffrong Classic Stampin' Spot) under the sponged Brocade Blue
8. next position scrap piece of paper over top of the sponged areas and repeat steps 4 to 7 on the lower part of the card
9. once you have finished sponging your lightest color, grab your sponge one more time and dab it in the Brocade Blue ink, lightly brush it towards the bottomr of your card starting at top of the scrap piece of paper. The effect you are trying to get is a darker line in the middle of the card where your reflection starts (scrap piece of paper).
10. remove your scrap piece of paper and your card is finished

Black Bear peeking
While I was watering my flowers last night I was thinking of cards to do with the left over faux wood stuff that I had. This card popped into my head........a black bear peeking out from behind a fence. I just have to laugh because I don't own the stamp set that has the bear image in it my good friends Heidi & Wendy do. I always see cards made with him. Perhaps I may just have to break down and buy it. I am sending them this card as a thank you for being good friends. I hope they like it and it brings a smile to their faces.

Happy Father's Day
Now this card was a lot of fun to make and I think I have found a solution to my masculine card problem. I have such a hard time making masculine cards but after seeing the "Faux Wood" technique my problem may be solved. The other day (Thursday) I received my copy of the weCANstamp DVD that my upline Christy Harsch puts out. On the DVD was a demonstration of the "Faux Wood" technique done by Jean. Her card had Happy Father's Day on it and being Father's Day is just around the corner I thought this would be a great card to demonstrate at my June Stampin' Technique and Scrapbook Club. Yeah!!! I learnt a fabulous new technique and now have a card and technique to demonstrate for my June Club. I love the inspiration that the weCANstamp DVD gives me. Thanks Jean!
Faux Wood Technique
cut an 8.5" x 11" piece of Close to Cocoa card stock in half
take your Very Vanilla Craft Stampin' Pad and smoosh it all over so your Close to Cocoa card stock is covered in the craft ink and let dry (I left mine overnight - you could always use your heat gun to speed up the drying process)
once the Very Vanilla Craft ink is dry take a Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad and glide it over top of the Very Vanilla
Place card stock in paper cutter and cut strips off. I think mine were 1/2" strips
next place the 1/2" strips you just cut off back in the paper cutter and cut more strips at various lengths
Open up your Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' Pad and glide each edge of each strip on it. This will give a clean look to your wood boards
Next take a piece of card stock (I used Very Vanilla) and position your various lengths wood boards (strips) over top of it
Once you have your strips in place adhere them to the Very Vanilla card stock piece
Next take a Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker and add nails on each end of the wood boards. I put my nails where each wood board meets another wood board as well as some nails on the left and right hand edges.
On the DVD Jean suggested you could also make bricks using the above technique.......that is on my list of new techniques to try. I also had an idea of doing the faux wood technique on a card with the horses and wanted stamps from the Wanted stamp set. Keep an eye out for those.

Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz meets Butterfly Die
A friend of mine, Carol, came over to stamp yesterday. It was really cute, all 3 of us (Carol, my daughter and myself) had little tables in front of the t.v. and we were all creating watching Cinderella III. It was a great couple of hours while my son was down for his nap. I had recently received an order from Stampin' Up! and in that order was their new SMOOCH SPRITZ! The only words that I have for this new, fun product is WOW! I can see myself getting carried away and spritzing all of my projects. hahahaha just like when glitter was new to me......I had glittler EVERYWHERE. Here is a card that we made. Carol is a fairly new stamper and is in love with the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine so I wanted to do a card that showcased different dies for it. On this card we used the Top Note Bigz Die, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and the Little Leaves sizzlits dies. I tried to take a picture at an angle so that you could see the Smooch Spritz on the card. Next time I won't use so much of it. hahaha

Preschool Memories........a Scrapbook Gift
It has been a while since I last posted on here...and the reason is.......I have been really busy making a scrapbook for one of my daughter's teachers. She has 2 preschool teachers and one of them retired at the end of the preschool year so the other teacher approached me to see if I could make a scrapbook of her to give as a gift to the other one. It was a lot of fun to do and very challenging as the teacher only wanted me to use primary colors.....red, blue and yellow...and to keep it a school theme. I am more of a pink and green gal and I love using flower stamps. After spending a week and a bit on it it is finally finished and was given to the teacher last Thursday. The teacher that received this as a gift from the other teacher loved it. Here is one of the pages I created.
Stampin' Up! Supplies used:
Stamp Sets: First Day
Paper: Crushed Curry Textured card stock, Very Vanilla card stock, Brillian Blue card stock, Real red card stock, Basic Black card stock
Ink: Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad
